RECOVERY LIFESKILLS & WELLNESS

ACTIVITIES OF DAILY LIVING (ADL’S)

Life skills are essential to managing and living a better quality of life and creating healthy routines and habits are important to maintaining sobriety. This is not a resort, treatment center, or rehab. This is a learning center. Our program objective is to change behaviors and to have a total psychic change. Our 90-Day Intense Program creates a solid foundation of recovery to build upon and inspire continued growth and stability.

During a participant’s first week we pair them with their own certified recovery coach where they meet one-on-one for an orientation of the program and services that are provided to them. Recovery Capital assessments are conducted as well as registration for all health and human services, linking individuals to proper healthcare services and other needs (proper documents for identification purposes). On top of having their own recovery coach, we get each resident partnered with a sponsor, a mentor, and a life-coach.

Each resident can expect to learn Activities of Daily living like:

  • Budgeting
  • Cleaning
  • Cooking
  • Grocery Shopping Skills
  • Proper Hygiene
  • Physical Fitness
  • Medication Management

A 90-DAY PROGRAM

Participants will be expected to work a 12 Step Program of their choosing.

There will be an introduction to:

  • Wellbriety
  • Alcoholics Anonymous
  • Narcotics Anonymous

RECOVERY COACHES & RECOVERY SUPPORT SERVICES

The servant leaders of Fellowship RCO Housing are certified recovery coaches themselves, in long term recovery. Committed to monitoring and assisting our residents is their new chosen path.

“THE THERAPEUTIC VALUE OF ONE ADDICT HELPING ANOTHER IS WITHOUT PARELLEL.”

Fellowship Recovery Community Organization’s Peer-Based Services have shown that recovery is encouraged via social support. Our Recovery Coaches provide recovery support services that are designed to channel the learned experiences and expertise from their own recovery journeys. Our services include emotional, informational, instrumental, and affiliation support in the areas of health, home, purpose, and community.

The Fellowship RCO’s Recovery Residences provide a structured sober living environment for men and women in recovery from Substance Use Disorder (SUD). In our 15 years of experience, we have found that there are specific areas of focus are important to building sustainable recovery and our Recovery Coaches are proof.

Aside from gaining knowledge through self-discovery and being held accountable to the requirements of the program, we learn how important service and fun is in recovery and to recover. We participate in civic commitment and service projects in the community to open the heart and mind to the joy of giving, and we host social events because getting used to being “normal” and having outside interests to look forward to is vital to how we recover.

LIFE COACH SERVICES

Shelley Francis M.S., F.A.A.A

AUTHOR OF “NO CHILD LEFT UNWRAPPED: UNDERSTANDING AND HONORING THE GIFTS EVERY CHILD IS BORN WITH.”

After 25 years of working as an audiologist for children, Shelley started working with people in recovery from substance use disorders. She found that people who are prone to addiction, are often highly sensitive. When it comes to addiction, it is the inability to regulate emotions that is the underlying problem, and addiction comes when a person attempts to numb their overwhelming pain as a coping strategy.

Shelley has since identified that there are different sensitivity types, and that sensitivity is a beautiful Gift that needs to be cultivated and developed, not managed, or controlled. Learning to regulate emotions while honoring and respecting them, is the key to

living a peaceful life. This includes our nervous system, and our acquired belief systems, that together help to explain our behaviors. Shelley acts as a guide to unwrapping each client’s gift of sensitivity and helps confront fear, trauma, and perceptions so the client may shift their thinking and begin to live as their true self.

BIOSOUND THERAPY AND IT’S IMPACT ON RECOVERING FROM SUBSTANCE USE DISORDERS

Biosound Therapy helps individuals take back control of their emotional reactions and focus on quality of life, relationships, and health. It has been proven to be beneficial for patients who suffer from trauma, stress, depression, and anxiety.

Biosound Therapy is an increasingly and popular course of treatment for those experiencing mental health and or substance abuse issues in their life. The process is simple and painless. During their session, the client lays in a special chair and covered with a blanket. Then the client is exposed to a variety of vibration patterns that can be felt, heard, and seen. Biosound Therapy is non-invasive. Its sole purpose is to stimulate and heighten a sense of relaxation throughout your body through vibrations and sound waves.

The Purpose of Biosound Therapy is to put the nervous system in a complete state of relaxion. This method has shown promising discoveries with the treatment for depression and anxiety, and more recently it has shown to improve the chances of someone suffering from a substance use disorder to have a better chance of maintaining their sobriety.

BIOSOUND THERAPY HELPS WITH THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS:

  • PTSD
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Insomnia
  • Chronic Stress
  • Headaches
  • Muscle Pain
  • Fatigue
  • Detoxification from Drug Use
  • Eating Disorders
  • ADD/ADHD
  • High Blood Pressure

The audio therapy used in the session relaxes the body and mind, lowers blood pressure, and lowers heart rate. The visual therapy feature increases mindfulness and focus. Brain function is improved, and a refreshing energy overcomes you after the session is completed.

Fellowship RCO offers Biosound Therapy at its Community Center as we have found it especially helpful for individuals recovering from substance use disorders as the mind and body is increasingly more stressed during the early stages of recovery.
